December
December marks the start of a packed winter sports season in Kamloops, highlighted by holiday-themed hockey nights and early conference matchups. The Kamloops Blazers will kick things off in the month with their annual Teddy Bear Toss against the newly added Penticton Vees on Dec. 5, followed by a home game against the Tri-City Americans before heading into their holiday break.
Upon their return, the Blazers will face the Calgary Hitmen (Dec.27) and the Prince George Cougars (Dec. 30) at home to wrap up 2025. Over at McArthur Island, the Kamloops Storm host a pair of early-month matchups against the Kelowna Chiefs (Dec. 6) and the Golden Riders (Dec. 12). TRU also gets in on the action, with the WolfPack basketball teams hosting UNBC to wrap up the fall semester on Dec.5.

January
After the new year, January is one of the busiest months for sports fans in the city, with major hockey nights and numerous student-athlete events, marking a full return to competition after the holidays. The Blazers host six home games, including must-watch divisional matchups against Kelowna, Prince George, and Wenatchee. The Kamloops Storm continue a heavy home schedule of their own, playing seven times at McArthur Island as they push through the heart of their season. At the Tournament Capital Centre, TRU basketball and volleyball teams host multiple weekend series, providing fans with numerous opportunities to catch Canada West play live. The month also features the Kamloops Indoor Triathlon, bringing multisport energy to the TCC.

February
February closes out the winter schedule with rivalry games, Family Day festivities, and the final stretch of regular-season match-ups. The Storm wrap up their home calendar with key match-ups against Merritt, Williams Lake, Princeton, and Quesnel as playoff races tighten. TRU’s basketball and volleyball teams do not currently have scheduled home games for February; their appearances will depend on whether they qualify for postseason play or home games, with playoff schedules to be announced as teams secure their spots.
