The Omega is Thompson Rivers University’s independent student newspaper. It is currently only published online, with plans on reintroducing a print edition over the course of the coming year.
The operation is overseen by the Cariboo Student Newspaper Society, a registered non-profit society. All students of Thompson Rivers University in good standing are active members of the society. The board of directors meets monthly to oversee the publication.
The Omega is committed to ethical reporting and follows Canadian standards of quality journalism.
Its base operation costs are covered by student fees equal to $0.64 per credit to a maximum of $5.76 per semester per student. The remainder of costs are covered by online and print advertising.
