This week, leading up to Thanksgiving, sports fans in Kamloops will have something extra to be thankful for as the city will play host to Canada Soccer’s National Championship U-17 Cup. This event will bring the 2025 soccer season to a close with a tournament featuring Canada’s best amateur soccer clubs.
Kamloops, the Tournament Capital of Canada, is no stranger to hosting national competitions. However, this particular event hasn’t been hosted by the city since 2013.
The tournament is held every October, with divisions for both boys’ and girls’. The qualifying teams were finalized Sept. 20. With 12 teams in each division coming from across the country, spectators are in for an action-packed weekend. It offers an opportunity to support the players, coaches and officials who have been working hard this season.
The tournament will last six days, starting Oct. 8, with group matches running until Oct. 10. Elimination and ranking matches start the following day on Oct. 11, leading up to the finals on Monday, Oct. 13.
All 52 matches will be played at McArthur Island Park, which is located at 1655 Island Parkway on the North Shore of Kamloops.
All exhibition games are free to watch. Tickets for the semi-finals and finals are $15. Children ten years old and under receive free admission to all games.
