Does your wardrobe need a reset? Have you been looking in your closet only to be put out by its lack of new attire? The TRUSU equity committee wants to help. Starting today and ending Wednesday, the equity committee is hosting its annual clothing exchange pop-up shop in the Campus Activity Centre.
The campus clothing exchange is an event at TRU that has received much positive feedback from participants since its introduction. Azul-Sky Billy, the equity committee coordinator, said that this year, they were on track to reach the same number of donations as last year: 70 full donation bags.
The exchange ended on Friday, and the donations will be available exclusively for students at a pop-up shop from Feb. 3 to Feb. 5, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The shop will have the clothes organized in a masculine and feminine format, breaking down the walls of gender norms and ensuring fairness.
“Bring a friend, come with a reusable bag, come with an open mind,” Billy said.
Although their main goal is to offset the costs of highly priced clothing, their goal for the shop is to get as many donations as possible and to have all clothes taken. All remaining items after the shop closes will be donated to local charities and organizations.
