With Halloween falling on a Tuesday this year, it can be harder to find fun activities to celebrate this spooky holiday, but Kamloops has you covered. From nightclubs to painting and everything in between, this Halloween will be one to remember. Here are six activities you won’t want to miss.
Barbies WhoreR House
Brought by Rebellious Unicorns, Barbie’s WhoreR House promises to bring a scary twist to drag shows. The show will bring the Barbie Dream House to life with performers such as Ella Lamoureux, Venus, Jaylene Tyme, Sasha Zamolodchikova, and Khalid’s Form. It’s happening at Night Shift on 5th, this Friday, Oct 27. Doors will open at 7 p.m. for happy hour Barbie-themed drinks, and the drag show will begin at 8:30 p.m. Presale tickets for $19 are up for grabs now on the Rebellious Unicorns website, but they will also be sold at the door ranging from $25 to $35 depending on arrival time.
Halloween Costume Party
Get ready to dress to impress for this black carpet event. Brought to you by It’s Vague WorldWide, the event brings an exciting twist to costume contests, and the winners can look forward to a $500 cash prize. Pictures will be provided on the black carpet, along with exclusive interviews. Join the special guest from Vancouver, AZEEZ, and local DJs Guille, Bishop the DJ and Pato on Saturday, Oct 28, for a memorable night. Doors will open at 8 p.m. The event occurs at Blackwell Ball Room, with tickets now on sale from the Its Vague Worldwide Instagram page.
Halloween Dj Brunch
More of a morning person? No problem! Twisted Stake will host a terrifying brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct 29, featuring DJ Sarah Cuzzetto. The menu is curated to satisfy all cravings and leave people wanting more. There will be dancing, singing and, of course, lots of eating. Halloween at Cleavage Axe Co
Want to do something more adventurous and don’t mind driving to Sun Peaks? Cleavage Axe Co has the perfect event. This weekend, patrons are invited to participate in a hatchet-throwing tournament, with participants being offered the chance to win some amazing costume and door prizes. The event has a $40 fee, and a waiver has to be signed before participating. Tickets for the event can be purchased here.
Pumpkin Painting Party
Who says Halloween has to be scary? For a light and fun activity, Aberdeen Mall will host a Pumpkin Painting Party on Saturday, Oct 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Centre Court. All painted pumpkins will be entered into a draw to win $100 on an Aberdeen Mall Gift Card. Carving supplies, including the pumpkin, will be provided, so registration is highly encouraged, although there will be extras for those joining on the day. Halloween Bash at TRU
The perfect event for students who want to stick close to university is here. Kristen Erika Events and TRU have put together a Halloween special on the night of Halloween. Activities will include a haunted house, costume contest, free spins and dancing. The event will take place in the Terrace Room on the second floor of the Campus Activity Centre, beginning at 8 p.m. and running until midnight. Tickets are $20 and include everything mentioned except the bar drinks, and may be purchased from the Kristen Erika Events website here.
